Square Card - Oh so Fun!

Today is my day to be "Hip and Square" at MSL.  Not sure it is good to be both of those at the same time, LOL!

I have created a square card using a Heart Outline Stamp and the special Magnolia with Koala stamp.  This is a very layered card, with lots of colors.

I love the heart that I layered.  Here is a pic of the side view, and a close up of the heart.  I used colored pencils on this with gamsol.

I colored Tilda with copic markers.  Just love this stamp.

I used the Core'dinations Gemstones paper, misc scraps of paper, and Spellbinders Fancy Tags. This card was fund to create.  I hope it will inspire you to create one of your own.

Happy Wednesday,

Painting a Northern Cardinal

I love those BYOB Painting classes that are popping up all over the place.  There is one that I go to frequently with a friend of mine.  A few weeks ago, we went to paint a Northern Cardinal.  Here is the progression of the painting.

First we drew an outline of the bird on the canvas.

Doesn't look like much does it?  Well, I wasn't too sure if was going to be much either.

We then started painting the background.

So now I have started working on the background.  It is starting to look a little like something, but I still have my doubts about this painting.

Okay, starting on the bird and now I am thinking I am going to hide this picture under the bed.  LOL!  But then things start to look a little better as we add some different colors.

This is looking a little better.  Then we start adding the branch and pine needles.  When we are all done, I finally feel like I have a picture that I am proud of.  Here is the final picture.

I just love these places because you can be so far from a good painting, and then it all comes together in the end.  Hope you like my Northern Cardinal.

Bouquet of Flowers

I thought this image, Tilda loves Flowers, was a perfect image to post around Mother's Day! Especially for the MSL Challenge to use a Magnolia image with flowers.   I just love this image, but this is the first time that I have had a chance to use it.  I used Basic Grey Sweet Threads cardstock on this card.  The base of the card is Core'dinations Gemstones.

I used rhinestones down the left side and used two different Martha Stewart Punches on the right side of the card.

Here is a close up of the adorable Tilda on the card.

I hope this inspires you to create a card using a Tilda with flowers on it and join the MSL Challenge!

Butterflies and Flowers

It is my day to post a card for the MSL Butterfly Challenge.  I have created a card using the new Spellbinders Wings of Hope Die and the McGill Punches.

Here is a peek at the card.  I am showing you the Hydrangea that I made with the McGill punches.

I just love working with the McGill punches.  I also made another flower that is on the bottom of the card.  I cut the center of the card out in a circle shape so I could put my Magnolia image on the inside of the card but she would peek through.

I used Basic Grey Sweet Threads cardstock.  Here is the card that I made:

I hope this inspires you to make a card of your own!

Happy Thursday!

Girly Card

It is my day to post a Girly Card for SSCC.  I decided to make a card that didn't have an image on it.  This is a little different than most of my cards, but I wanted to work outside the box.  Here is the card that I made:

I used Basic Grey Papers Sweet Threads, Spellbinders Wings of Hope, rhinestones, and ribbon.  Here is a closeup of the butterfly in Wings of Hope.

It is hard to see the different dimensions that I have done with the cardstock and the butterfly on top.  So here is a look at the side view of the card.

Hope you like my card and that it inspires you to create a card of your own.

Happy Sunday!

Stamping Tilda

We are starting a new challenge at Magnolia Stamp Lovers!  You need to use Basic Grey cardstock on your card.  I have created a card using Sweet Threads Basic Grey cardstock. I cut the cardstock using Stamping Scrapping's new Card Creator Dies.  You are going to love these!

I used the new Magnolia stamp - Stamping Tilda on my card.   I think this stamp is super adorable!  Here is a peek at the card:

I used the Sew Ribbon Weave Tool on the ribbon I put on the card. I used a Bo Bunny flower and placed another little Stampin Tilda on the flower.  This Tilda was stamped on shrink plastic, colored slightly, and then heated with my heat tool.

I also used rhinestones on the corner of the card.  So here is my finished card - I hope this inspires you to create a card of your own!

Happy Sunday!  Hugs, Meg

Sentiment Card

This is a card that I am posting for the MSL Challenge.  I had a hard time doing a sentiment only card, especially with a Magnolia sentiment only.  I do not have too many of those, and they do not take up the whole card.  I had to add a small image to my card to make it look a little complete, so please forgive me!

Here is my card, and I hope you like it!  I am sure it will inspire you to make a Sentiment Card of your own!

I used a new Martha Stewart punch on this card!

Happy Wednesday (Hump Day)
